In the center of the hall, a mass of gray mist suddenly exploded. Supervisor Gong Huan appeared abruptly, clad in a wide-sleeved robe of black patterned with silver threads.
"Supervisor, has some trouble arisen?" Confusion filled Bai Zhilang's stern square face.
"At dusk, Ghost Gate Pass suddenly trembled. General... is there any problem with your Soul Summoning Banner?" Gong Huan asked with a solemn expression.
Bai Zhilang frowned. "Weren't you conducting a ritual earlier?"
"Could it be the Multi-headed Flood Dragons? Are they trying to imitate the Red-Eyed Water Ape and attack the camp?" Bai Zhilang's expression turned grave. "The lesson of Camp Hai is still fresh. I'll have to trouble you to investigate again, supervisor."
Gong Huan nodded. "If the Red-Eyed Water Ape could attack Camp Hai, then the Multi-headed Flood Dragons, being cunning and sinister by nature, may well come ashore to cause trouble."
"I'll search through the entire camp later. The disturbance may be considerable, so I hope General will calm the Ghost Soldiers beforehand to prevent a mutiny."

Gong Huan bowed with clasped fists. As he turned, gray mist rose around him, and he vanished at once.

Yet Bai Zhilang did not resume reading the ledger in his hands. Instead, he narrowed his eyes at the place where Gong Huan had disappeared, a concealed glimmer of blood-red light emerging in his pupils.
