Background / History

The Carefree Sect was founded by the Carefree Hermit and occupied Mount Guyang's Grade 4 Middle-rank spirit vein for more than four thousand years. Under True Lord Daoxuan, it stabilized its position and came to lead Wei State's cultivation world. 934

After True Lord Daoxuan's death, the sect entered a prolonged decline. Li Mufeng, then a newly advanced Nascent Soul cultivator, had to preserve the sect while it lost northern territory to the Demonic Race and was surpassed by surrounding Nascent Soul sects. The sect nevertheless retained sufficient unity and inherited foundation to survive periods without a Nascent Soul protector and eventually restore its strength. 881 934 1043

Bai Yuxian's Nascent Soul formation marked the beginning of a major resurgence. The sect launched a northern expedition against the demonic forces of Golden Feather Mountain, reclaimed Baiyun Valley, expanded its territory, and later defeated the Ma Family's defection at Iron Immortal Fortress. 756 761 519 523

The sect's influence continued to expand through victories against the Demonic Race, its acquisition of Crimson Cloud Mountain, the development of East Sea resources, and recognition as a Top Ten Sect. Following Song Qingming's Spirit Transformation breakthrough, the Carefree Sect was formally elevated into a Spirit Transformation force. To support its growing population and insufficient spiritual energy at Mount Guyang, the sect moved its mountain gate to Qingyun Mountain. 1367 1374

Membership and Training

Qi Refining disciples cultivate collectively in the Transmission Hall and cannot establish private cave abodes. Foundation Establishment cultivators may apply for their own Spirit Mountain and select Qi Refining disciples to manage it or study under them. 140

The sect accepts talented cultivators from affiliated families, with Three Spirit Roots being the minimum qualification for an Inner Disciple position. Inner Disciples receive preferential treatment, while Outer Disciples must perform regular sect chores. 90
