History
Ao Le is the daughter of Ao Zhan, the Min River Dragon Lord, and Ao Yun. Her parents’ forbidden relationship drew the hostility of other Dragon Palaces; after her mother was taken by the West Sea, Ao Le was left in Wu River Dragon Palace. Separated from her parents and subjected to mockery and abuse by the Wu River Dragon Lord’s children, she grew up timid, withdrawn, and deeply afraid of conflict 365 366 386.
The Min River Dragon Palace selected Lu Qingfeng as her husband after its Fortune-Observing Treasure Mirror identified his extraordinary fortune. Their marriage began abruptly and without either party’s preparation, but Lu Qingfeng’s patience and promise to protect her allowed Ao Le to gradually trust him 365 366. Over the following decade, she helped him study Nature Cultivation texts and offered him her family’s Immortal Dao teachings, even accepting his decision to keep those teachings concealed 367.
After Lu Qingfeng became Yuan Lake Water Lord, Ao Le joined him in establishing their new foundation. She offered to serve as his personal guard, and their marriage developed into an affectionate partnership built on mutual reliance and shared ambition 370. She later entered the Dharma Gathering Realm and became more confident after leaving the sheltered environment of the Min River Dragon Palace 374.
During Lu Qingfeng’s prolonged absence in the Spring Shen Realm, Ao Le transformed from a gentle, sheltered dragon maiden into Silver River’s decisive Water Lord and military commander. She led troops against Green Ox Mountain, covered their retreat with thunder arts, and endured an 844-year separation while refusing to believe that Lu Qingfeng had betrayed her family 421. His eventual return restored her confidence, and she continued advancing with his support, reaching the Golden Core Realm through the Immortal Crystal he prepared for her 425 426.
Ao Le’s later pursuit of immortality was driven by her desire to remain with Lu Qingfeng. She endured the Dragon Gate Leap, the fusion of three Dragon Clan treasures, and a nine-life reincarnation trial before attaining the Earth Immortal Dao Fruit 485 486 498. Lu Qingfeng bore the tribulations meant for her and died after ensuring her breakthrough, leaving her to wait at Crouching Dragon Mountain for over fifty-seven thousand years 498 681.
When Lu Qingfeng finally returned, Ao Le immediately recognized him and embraced him without hesitation. Their reunion also allowed Lu Xiao and Lu Yao to meet their father again after their immense separation 681 682 683.
Appearance
Ao Le is repeatedly described as graceful and refined, with a gentle bearing that remains even after she becomes a battle-tested commander and an Earth Immortal. She commonly wears pale or snow-white garments and ties her long hair with a white ribbon 405 453 681.
- A dragon princess capable of assuming a True Dragon form during major cultivation trials 484 486.
- Often carries a treasured sword, reflecting her later role as a warrior and Water Lord 369 421.
- Her former martial aura faded after years beside Lu Qingfeng, restoring much of her original tranquil demeanor 453.
- Her long separation from Lu Qingfeng visibly wore on her, leaving her thinner despite retaining her grace 681.
Personality
Ao Le was initially shy, socially withdrawn, and easily embarrassed, largely because of her isolated childhood in Wu River Dragon Palace 365 366. She is nevertheless emotionally perceptive: she recognized Lu Qingfeng’s sincerity early in their marriage, later saw through his attempts to conceal the damage caused by using his own flesh and blood to extend her life, and persistently demanded the truth 366 474.
Her defining trait is devotion. She trusted Lu Qingfeng despite accusations that he had defected to demons, waited through millennia after his apparent death, and pursued higher cultivation primarily so that she could remain with him 421 422 485 681. She is equally devoted to her family, especially Ao Lie, Ao Jun, and her children.
Years of military command made Ao Le far more resolute. As Silver River Water Lord, she could order a retreat under pressure, protect her forces personally, and confront hostile armies without hesitation 421 422. She also retains a playful, teasing side around those she trusts, particularly Lu Qingfeng and Ao Jun 422 473.

- Eastern Emperor Bell — A supreme-grade Numinous Treasure given to Ao Le by Lu Qingfeng for defense; it could protect her against opponents below the level of true supreme treasures, but its copied form would return to its source after three thousand years 704.
- Divine Tomb — A low-grade Numinous Treasure given to Ao Le because Lu Qingfeng already possessed the Reincarnation Pool. It preserves divine bodies and can provide resurrection through the tombs within it 695.
- Longevity Realm — A Numinous Treasure contained within the Divine Tomb. Ao Le completed its preliminary refinement and gained access to its terracotta army 695.
- Treasured sword — Carried during her time at Yuan Lake and Silver River 369 421.

Trivia
- Ao Le initially believed she was of little use in either civil administration or warfare, yet later became the capable Water Lord and commander of Silver River 370 421.
- Before becoming an Earth Immortal, she had learned comparatively few Divine Abilities because her limited comprehension and cultivation demands consumed most of her time 683.
- Her desire for immortality was motivated less by ambition than by her wish to remain with Lu Qingfeng indefinitely 485 498.
