History

Five Directions Realm Calamity

The Blood Sea Lineage invaded the Five Directions Realm under the authority of the Ancestor of the Nether River. Heaven-Cursed Asura sought to conceal the realm's heavenly secrets, drag it into the Nine Netherworlds, and merge it with the Netherworld Blood Sea before the Heavenly Court could respond. 245 246

Its descent spread blood-red light across the firmament and destabilized the entire realm. The four great immortal sects could not halt it: the Five Fire Sect lost a True Immortal, the Plague-Dispelling Immortal Sect's great seal was defiled, and even the Golden Silkworm Gu was forced back after devouring part of the sea. 246

Blood-light pillars then descended across the realm to forcibly convert cultivators. The transmission successively bestowed the Blood Light Scripture, Blood River Great Art, Blood God Scripture, and Blood Sea True Scripture; ordinary victims had their original techniques overwritten, exploded under the influx of power, or became Blood Sea demonic cultivators. 249

Lu Qingfeng resisted conversion because his Mysterious Tier methods could coexist with the Blood Sea True Scripture. He refined the incoming blood energy into experience instead, but later escaped the Blood Sea's attempt to seize him by detonating his body with the Dutian Demon God Blood-Transformation Escape Art. 249 250

Eastern Sunken Continent Blood Sea

Before Mount Yu Sect was founded, Eastern Sunken Continent was an endless sea of blood controlled by the Blood Sea Demon Sect. Patriarch Guangdu destroyed the sect and spent thirty thousand years sealing the boundless Blood Sea beneath the continent; surviving remnants later formed the Bloodspring Demon Sect to restore it. 398 412

Yu Gong and Miaoyu activated the Blood Abyss Great Method and a Blood-Pattern Grand Formation, linking the Blood Sea with the continent's abyss-suppressing formations. Their ritual manifested a colossal blood-sea giant that appeared to support the Eastern Sunken Continent itself. 416 417

When Karmic Fire consumed Yu Gong and Miaoyu, Lu Qingfeng exploited their instability. His clone He Shan—who had spent over two centuries cultivating the Blood Sea True Scripture within the Bloodspring Demon Sect—destroyed its body and Golden Core, merging its entire existence into the Blood Sea. 418

The merger allowed Lu Qingfeng to embody the Blood Sea, but also transferred its immeasurable accumulated sins and karmic retribution onto him. He concealed himself within the sea after the blood-sea giant was destroyed and the Bloodspring Demon Sect's formations collapsed. 419

Later Use

The Blood Sea Clone remained hidden until the struggle over the Dragon Transformation Pool. It summoned twelve Blood God Children, formed the Twelve Capital Heaven Blood Sea Formation to delay Patriarch Golden Light, and used the Blood Centipede Bamboo Staff and twelve Iron-Backed Centipedes to stall the Heavenly King of Battle. 493

In the Five Directions Realm, Lu Qingfeng later prepared formations within the Northern Frontier Blood Sea to channel Great Sage Yellow Wind's Samadhi Divine Wind. The wind tore the Blood Sea from the Mortal Realm, killed or injured its demonic inhabitants, and compressed it into a fist-sized blood pearl. 555 556

Nature

The Blood Sea is a concentration of blood qi, baleful energy, resentment, lingering souls, and accumulated sin. Its waters are inhospitable to ordinary life; ghosts submerged within it are stained by blood qi and condemned to enduring torment. 245 416

Its scale makes direct suppression exceptionally difficult. Even True Immortals feared entering the Eastern Sunken Continent Blood Sea once Karmic Fire appeared, while the Five Directions Realm manifestation could threaten to overturn an entire world. 246 418
