Cassandra put her phone back on the table and looked up at Harry.

"Let her come if she wants. We already said last time that she should visit more often." She tied on her apron. "Besides, she said she'd bring Pabbie's newly baked Cinnamon Rolls. That alone makes it worth it."

Harry leaned against the windowsill, watching her take a few things from the refrigerator and arrange them on the counter. He yawned.

"What are you making?" he asked.

"Omelets with toast. She said she wanted some last time." Cassandra cracked eggs into a bowl. "Simple and quick, not too easy to mess up."

"Aren't you pretty good at cooking now? Are there still dishes you can mess up?" Harry asked curiously.

"Yes." She picked up the whisk and began beating the eggs. "Last time I tried making Cream Stew, I added too much water and it turned into a whole pot of soup. Pabbie said it was creative cooking. I said it was a disaster. I drank that stuff for two days."

Harry stifled a laugh and moved to lean against the edge of the table beside her, watching her pour the egg mixture into the frying pan.

The eggs quickly set in the hot oil. She gently pushed at the edges with a spatula, letting the unset egg run to the bottom of the pan. After repeating that a few times, the omelet began to take shape.

"You're much more practiced than when you made it for the first time," Harry said.

"You naturally get better when you make something often."

Cassandra evenly sprinkled chopped tomatoes and basil over one side of the omelet, then gently folded the other side over it and turned off the heat, letting the residual warmth cook the inside.
