In an abandoned building across from Hospital Street, dozens of people had gathered.
Not one of them wore Protective Suits or masks.
Because they were all infected with the blood plague.
Red blotches had appeared on everyone's necks and shoulders.
Their eyes were filled with emotions like anger, despair, and ferocity.
A flat-topped man stood before them, his expression twisted as he said, "Everyone knows this! Some people have antibodies, and their serum can save infected people's lives, yet those black-uniformed Management Bureau bastards won't tell us! Why do we have to sit around and wait to die after getting infected while they get to use serum?"
"I'm just asking one thing!" the man shouted. "At that hospital across the street, those black-uniformed bastards brought in a woman. She should be someone with antibodies. There are only a few guards at the entrance, while we have dozens of people. Do you dare come with me and fucking take her?"
"Fuck! We're going to die anyway. What is there to be afraid of?"
"That's right! We infected people will be done for within twenty-four hours. What do we have left to lose?"
"Forget a few guards with guns—even if they parked planes and tanks at the entrance, I'd still charge in! Getting shot to death is better than dying when my blood explodes!"
The infected people were worked into a frenzy. Not a single one objected.
Many of them had originally stayed at gathering points, only to be thrown out after others discovered they were infected.
Some had sought official help, but the official personnel tactfully informed them that they could not be saved. They could only be assisted with euthanasia, allowing them to leave without pain.
Some agreed, but even more refused!
Even knowing they would die from exploding blood
