Guan Tong sat down. "Moon... may I ask how I should address you?"
"A nickname will do. My real name is irrelevant; it vanished along with the old era long ago. In this brand-new era, a nickname better reflects a person's true heart," Key of the Moon said.
Guan Tong raised his brow slightly. "You said the old era vanished?"
"The world after Fire Thief descended is already a new world. The nicknames we each have on the Terminal Panel are our names in the new world. Just like your nickname, 'Shadow'—it isn't only because of your ability, is it?"
"Then you're wrong," Guan Tong said. "My name really is my ability. It has no other meaning."
Key of the Moon smiled but said nothing.
"Let's get straight to the point," Guan Tong said solemnly. "I want to hire you to help me find someone."
He had come straight to Key of the Moon after returning from space without even resting, naturally because of the investigation into Suzuki.
Back then, he had told Shangyuan Zi that with the leads cut off, they needed to use some special methods. A diviner like Key of the Moon was one such method.
Key of the Moon lightly brushed her fingers across the Crystal Ball. "My ability is prophecy. It has little to do with finding people."
"Not necessarily." Guan Tong took out a tablet from his Storage Ring, opened its map function, and placed it on the table. "Beixing Nation has thirty-six administrative districts. I've decided to start with the first one. You can prophesy whether I'll find her there. If not, I'll move on to the next."
Key of the Moon froze for a moment. "An exhaustive search?"
"That's right." Guan Tong's gaze was resolute.
He did not like leaving things unfinished.
