Rayne interrogated Hazula the Priest and extracted a great deal of information, but the Troll tribes kept their news tightly sealed. Hazula only knew about the areas around "Avikhen"; he knew little about the other cities or the Southern Continent as a whole.
As for the Loa, Hazula felt nothing but awe and worship.
Seeing that further questioning would be pointless, Rayne had Hazula teach him the one hundred and fifty Ancient Saint Runes he knew. Under the control of the Brainwashing Spell, the Troll Priest held nothing back.
Rayne mastered them all in just over an hour.
While he was at it, he also learned several hundred Ancient Saint Scripts from Hazula. The Trolls called them "Divine Script," meaning the written language used by the gods.
Divine Script was knowledge that only the priesthood could master, and it was used exclusively among priests.
However, very few priests could speak it fluently.
The several hundred Ancient Saint Scripts Hazula knew were the most basic ones, including pronunciation, grammar, and word meanings. Even when he spoke them himself, he stumbled frequently, often producing nonsensical sentences and making obvious errors.
Rayne was already very satisfied with this.
There were a great many inscriptions on the Ancient Saint Altar, which should explain the altar's principles. Just as vernacular writing was related to classical writing, they were probably much easier to understand. If he could master the Ancient Saint Script, it would help him tremendously and speed up the deciphering process.
In the gloomy forest, Rayne looked at Hazula the Priest. The other party was under the control of the Brainwashing Spell and completely obeyed Rayne's will. Taking his life would be as easy as turning over a hand.
However, Rayne was not a bloodthirsty murderer.
They had no grudge against each other. Even
