"Do you want to become the Archon?"

Duke Silverstar showed some surprise, then asked in confusion, "You even gave up the chance to enter the High Council. Why do you still want to become the Archon? Are you moving backward?"

"Nothing much. I just want to experience it."

Rayne gave a casual explanation.

The Storm Queen looked disgusted. "What's there to experience? The Archon is nothing more than the High Council's puppet. You have to worry about so many things. It's far more comfortable being a landed noble."

"You're still too young. You'll regret it once you become the Archon. It's a complete waste of time." Duke Silverstar snorted twice, thinking Rayne was too inexperienced and naïve. She assumed he thought the Archon's title was impressive and wanted to taste the pleasures of power.
