Grey Eagle Duke

A group of Rick Guards respectfully escorted Rayne into Fubeden Castle. They turned left at the square and entered He Palace.

This was not Rayne's first time at He Palace.

Along the way, he looked at the luxurious and imposing imperial palace gardens, feeling a little as if things had changed beyond recognition. The last time he had come here, Gneus had still been the governor and master of He Palace. Now, not only was Gneus dead, but Rayne was about to take his position.

He Palace was busier than ever. The people coming and going along the roads were either the governor's officials or councilors paying a visit to the Grey Eagle Duke.

When they saw Rayne, they could not help widening their eyes.

During this special period, Speaker Rayne had entered He Palace to visit the duke. Even the dullest person could guess his purpose.

The people concealed their shock and saluted Rayne.

After passing by Rayne, they could not help turning back to look at his retreating figure. Their hearts pounded. This was definitely big news.

Some people paused, then immediately ran off again, while others took out their Voice Transmission Watches and quickly whispered into them.

Under the gazes of everyone along the way, Rayne arrived at the main building of He Palace. This three-story building had originally been the emperor's residence. It stood beside Lotus Lake with a wide-open view. It was later converted into an office building and named Governance Hall. It occupied an enormous area, large enough for hundreds of people to work there at the same time.

For many years, every governor had worked in Governance Hall. This was the administrative center of the Empire.
