A Few Rambling Words

I was sitting in front of the computer at six in the evening, yet I hadn't written a single word. My heart and brain were both exhausted.

My condition has been unbelievably awful these past few days. I reflected on it myself: first, I let up at the beginning of the month; second, I really haven't been putting in enough effort lately; third, I just happened to finish the plots about the Archon and advancing to Soul Saint, so I've entered a transitional period.

I've had the outline for what comes next for a long time. The problem is that there are too many plot points. I counted more than thirty just now. With so many tangled threads, even I feel completely lost. Some are things I plan to write in this volume, while others are for the next volume but could also be placed in this one. After sorting through them for half a day, it felt like a tiger biting into a brown coat with nowhere to start...

This is the first time I've written something this long. It's almost 3.3 million words now. In the past, the longest I'd written was only 1.25 million. At present, I expect Warhammer Wizard to reach more than 4.5 million words, and five million isn't impossible either... Now I'm experiencing what it feels like to write a book into its later stages: the farther you go, the harder it gets. No wonder so many authors slow their updates, suffer a huge drop in quality, or even abandon their books as they reach the end. It really is so difficult!
