The Wutian Template and the Great Sun Tathagata Template were, to a certain extent, indeed two sides of the same coin. Their very existences stood in opposition, with no possibility of reconciliation.
Yet within the Dungeon World of Black Myth, that duality took on another form.
The original Wutian and Tathagata had been black and white opposites in terms of the nature of their power. But the Tathagata who had changed from a Great Sun into a Black Sun had long since been corrupted by this world's spiritual essence system, blackened beyond black.
In a sense, the Great Sun Tathagata before them had already become "Wutianized."
So if he used the pitch-black Wutian Template to clash with Black Sun Tathagata, it might not count as aiding evil—but there was a good chance the usual "not very effective" attack prompt would appear when one same-type power struck another.
However, Cheng Tian's other key ability now came into play: the Sacred Demonic Heart derived from the Heart Shrine Priest class system. As his abilities had grown, this skill had changed from its original holy-demonic balance into a state where the two could be converted into one another. This gave Cheng Tian a special constitution that let him become a saint or a demon alike—and even turn half his face black and half white to play at balance if he wanted.
Thus, the world-ending power attached to the Buddha Ancestor Wutian Template was transformed through holy-demonic conversion directly into world-saving power, without any additional loss. It manifested in the purest form of a white lotus, and Cheng Tian, like a cabbage-pult, hurled that condensed mass of world-saving power straight at Black Sun Tathagata.
