The eye was just a minor issue. Humans in the Pirate King's world often looked quite ordinary, and the eye on Minos's head was slightly different from the third eye of the Three-Eyed Tribe, so it wasn't a problem at all.
However, Minos immediately explained his ability: "Perhaps it's a mutation. My eye can see things very far away!"
"Oh?!" Katakuri had only asked casually, mostly because Minos's head-eye looked different from Brulee's. He hadn't expected such an answer.
Could it be that some of his Three-Eyed Tribe bloodline has awakened?
Thinking this, Katakuri began to take Minos more seriously. To possess such talent before even starting formal training clearly indicated that Minos was exceptionally gifted.
There were quite a few exceptionally gifted people on the Great Sea, and their mother was the prime example.
These were relatively rare power-type talents. If it were geniuses with naturally strong Observation Haki or mental strength, their numbers would be even greater.
For instance, the legendary Count Red and Queen Otohime of Fish-Man Island back then were both geniuses who possessed Observation Haki without any training. Katakuri himself was considered a genius in Observation Haki, but compared to them, his talent was somewhat inferior.
Minos's third eye naturally possessed the function of a Thousand Mile Eye from birth. While it surprised Katakuri, it wasn't truly a rare occurrence on the Great Sea.
"Very good. You'll follow me from now on. I'll start training you properly tomorrow," Katakuri said seriously, half-crouching and casually patting Minos's shoulder.
Katakuri was well-informed about the abilities of the Three-Eyed Tribe. As a member of the Charlotte Pirates, he was naturally interested in helping Big Mom become the Pirate King.
Although the Big Mom Pirates could be considered the least united of the Yonko Crews, and Katakuri himself had his reservations about his mother, he was extremely dedicated when it came to the overall interests of the pirate crew.
Unfortunately, Katakuri, as a good brother, couldn't bring himself to train his sister Brulee harshly. Thus, seeing Minos, a new, exceptionally gifted member of the Three-Eyed Tribe, made Katakuri quite happy—
"In that case, Brulee can just be a backup. She won't need any rigorous training..."
Minos didn't understand Katakuri's thoughts. However, having just arrived in the chaotic world of the Pirate King, and still feeling uneasy about it, he naturally wouldn't object to Katakuri's training. Instead, he looked forward to it.
After a grand banquet, Katakuri led his two newly recruited subordinates to the training grounds.
Talon rubbed his stomach, muttering complaints about how even the grilled meat was sweet. Minos looked even more overwhelmed, feeling that if he stayed on Cake Island any longer, he'd end up with high blood pressure and a stroke!
"Don't worry. You won't need to live on Cake Island regularly. Once you join my crew, you'll go to my Wheat Island."
Katakuri heard the complaints from behind him and said, "Wheat Island doesn't have only sweets. There are also plenty of pastries, grilled meats, and vegetables."
"But the most abundant are donuts!" a clear voice rang out from behind Minos. A cute little girl in a pink dress, with twin ponytails and thick bangs, spoke up.
"Donuts' sugar is the source of energy," Katakuri casually replied. "Rest assured, I'll consider the tastes of my other crew members as well, so there will be food suitable for your preferences."
He cares not only for his siblings but also for his subordinates? Truly worthy of being Katakuri.
Minos thought to himself. In pirate crews like the Big Mom Pirates and the Beast Pirates, which relied entirely on strength, there were probably very few pirates who were both so humane and powerful. Perhaps only Katakuri.
As for the little tagalong following him, it was Charlotte Pudding, a member of the Three-Eyed Tribe like his former self.
Of course, now that he had transformed into a yokai, he had probably become a unique species in the entire pirate world. However, at least outwardly, he wasn't too different from the Three-Eyed Tribe.
Unlike Charlotte Pudding, who used her thick bangs to cover her third eye, Minos had never covered the third eye on his forehead since arriving on Cake Island. Moreover, Minos's third eye was slightly smaller than his other two eyes and looked very harmonious. It didn't give off the eerie feeling of a typical Three-Eyed Tribe member; instead, it looked natural, like a celestial eye on his forehead.
Pudding, who had suffered discrimination because of her third eye since childhood, naturally envied him greatly. Furthermore, since they were the only two members of the Three-Eyed Tribe on Cake Island, Pudding's closeness to him was understandable.
"Alright, this is the training ground," Katakuri said in a deep voice. "Let me test your foundations first!"
Minos blinked and looked around, then picked up a standard Pirate longsword from a weapon rack.
The standard weapons in the Pirate King's world weren't the cutlass-style pirate swords of the real world. They were closer to the shape of Japanese katanas, after all, this was a manga drawn by Oda.
Real-world katanas were powerful but had questionable armor-piercing capabilities and could easily break when clashing with other weapons. However, in the Pirate King's world, the strength of these weapons was greatly enhanced.
Even with just a standard weapon, Minos could feel that the toughness and strength of this sword were comparable to high-strength alloys in the real world.
If it were a famous sword from the Pirate King's world, its strength would likely be incredible!
Minos hadn't practiced any Japanese sword techniques, but katanas were inherently easy to wield. Furthermore, after transforming into a yokai, his body coordination and agility had greatly improved, making him much more adept at using katanas, which relied primarily on speed.
Of course, this was just a superficial display. True swordsmen in the Pirate King's world were not only astonishingly fast but also incredibly strong. Just looking at Zoro constantly practicing his sword swings with a barbell was enough proof. But regardless, holding a sword was better than using his fists.
As for Talon, he unhesitatingly picked up a large iron mace covered in iron spikes. Clearly, this was the weapon the Oni Clan excelled at.
"I'll go first!" Minos said nothing and charged forward with incredible speed.
Seeing this, Talon let out a roar, took a step, and swung his weapon towards Katakuri's head.
Katakuri's expression was calm. He didn't take out his weapon or use any Haki. Instead, he swung his fist directly.
