The wind swept through the forest. At the Valley of the End, Ming Jing, Sasuke, and Obito watched one another warily. The three had fought for a full day and night, expending quite a bit of Chakra. They needed to rest as well.

Ming Jing looked at Obito, whose mask had been destroyed by a third, and asked with an amused smile, "Sasuke, have you never doubted this guy's identity?"

Sasuke merely glanced at Obito and did not answer Ming Jing.

Ming Jing did not mind and continued on his own, "I don't know what this guy told you, but I need to remind you: even Itachi was on guard against him at all times. Are you sure you aren't playing with fire right now?"

"Sasuke and I are partners. Neither of us can say what will happen in the future. But for now, Sasuke and I share the same enemy—you, Ming Jing." Obito spoke calmly, while also reminding Sasuke not to forget the purpose of their trip.

"Partners?" Ming Jing laughed as though he had heard a joke. "A wolf wants to cooperate with a rabbit? And this stupid rabbit actually agreed!"

"Akira Kurama, I know exactly why you're saying this. Even now, you're still trying to sow discord. You're far more cunning than Itachi." Sasuke stared at Ming Jing coldly, looking completely unmoved.

"Don't get so worked up. I was merely offering a kind reminder." Ming Jing waved a hand. Fighting one against two really was exhausting! Even more frustrating, he had been ambushed by the Piercing Wood Technique earlier. To stay alive, he had no choice but to use the Chakra he had stored up over many years.
