At last, after paying the terrible price of losing seventy percent of its population and seeing countless industrial planets destroyed, the final Zerg nest was annihilated, and peace returned to the Milky Way Galaxy. Earth Civilization began leading the surviving civilizations of the galaxy in rebuilding their Homeworlds.

The Zerg invasion was known as the First Calamity, and that era was called the First Era.

Later, in the process of rebuilding their Homeworlds, Earth Civilization began using robots and artificial intelligence on a massive scale to compensate for the enormous population loss. As artificial intelligence continued to develop, these robots even gained emotions and creativity, and the conflict between organic and inorganic species gradually came to the forefront.

But disaster arrived as a result. A mysterious signal from the void opened the door to the Second Calamity. This signal came from an ancient artificial intelligence known as the Purification Protocol, which sought to destroy the civilization of the entire Milky Way Galaxy.

Under the influence of the Purification Protocol, robots and synthetics rebelled one after another, and a war spanning the entire Milky Way Galaxy erupted once more. Earth Civilization again stood at the forefront of the war.

The course of the war was once utterly despairing. Later, Earth Civilization discovered a Hyperspace Core left behind by an ancient civilization. By analyzing it, they developed hyperspace jump technology, allowing them to jump directly without relying on hyperspace lanes.

Using this super technology, Earth Civilization jumped its last fleet directly to the vicinity of the mechanical planet where the Purification Protocol resided and completely destroyed that planet, finally ending the war.

The invasion of the Purification Protocol was known as the Second Calamity, and that era was called the Second Era.

However, good times did not last. Due to the improper use of the Hyperspace Core, during a hyperspace jump, high-dimensional creatures called Shabnash crossed through a rift in space-time and descended upon the Milky Way Galaxy.

The battered Milky Way Galaxy mounted its final resistance under the leadership of Earth Civilization, but it ultimately failed. All civilizations were destroyed, Earth was blasted into fragments, and the last fleet of galactic civilization was wiped out.

In the end, Earth Civilization used the Hyperspace Core to construct a mothership and sent the final sparks of civilization—the Technology Archive, Talent Archive, and Embryo Bank—aboard it. Then it made a jump over the greatest possible distance, with a random destination, and only afterward arrived here.

This also explained why the mothership's Technology Archive contained technologies belonging to different civilizations and styles.
