Hearing Tarkin say this, Anakin grew even more furious. He snapped, "I never knew the Galactic Republic had a tradition of treating its people's lives as worthless!"
"Calm yourself, young Jedi Knight. I naturally have my reasons for doing this," Wilhuff Tarkin said.
"You'd better have a damn good reason! This blind breakthrough operation will cost at least tens of thousands of soldiers their lives!" Anakin Skywalker said. "The situation inside Izzy City is unknown. You have no idea where the Separatists may still have forces hidden! Nor do you know whether they have concealed firing positions! You know nothing about the buildings or the terrain! And yet you sent the transport ships in directly!"
"Then tell me, based on our current progress, how long do you think it will take to completely capture Izzy City?" Tarkin asked instead.
"At most five days. Izzy City will be entirely under our control," Anakin Skywalker replied.
"I recall that our agreed deadline was three days," Tarkin said blandly.
"The situation in Izzy City is extremely complicated. A large number of civilians have not been evacuated, so we must proceed cautiously!" Anakin Skywalker said.
