Anakin Skywalker returned to the Jedi Temple in a daze. He did not even know how he had gotten back.
When he walked through the temple gates, Master Shaak Ti, the current leader of the former Jedi Order, was waiting for him. Seeing Anakin enter, Shaak Ti stepped forward and gently brushed a hand across his forehead. A cool current of the Force immediately swept over him, making him seem a little more clear-headed.
"You're finally back, Anakin. I was worried about you," Shaak Ti said. "It seems you weren't hurt. That's good. Facing a Sith Lord is an extremely dangerous thing."
"I'm sorry, Master Shaak Ti, I couldn't..." Anakin Skywalker shook his head painfully.
"This isn't your fault, Anakin..." Shaak Ti patted his shoulder. "But I do urgently need to know what happened to Master Yoda. Did you see him? Even if... even if it was the worst possible outcome."
Anakin said wearily and quietly, "Master Yoda failed... but he isn't dead. I just don't know where he is now..."
After a pause, he added, "Sidious doesn't know either."
Shaak Ti's brow immediately furrowed at those words. She seemed to want to say something, but stopped herself. She merely watched as Anakin returned to his quarters.
Anakin Skywalker sat blankly on the bed in his quarters, staring at the white ceiling as countless scenes flashed through his mind...
