Did she want to fight head-on? There were only a few warships around the Destruction. Even if the Destruction was immensely powerful, even if Sefrans Tann was exceptionally brilliant, such a disparity in forces was enough to overwhelm every other possibility!
Was she waiting for reinforcements? As far as they knew, there were no Separatist fleets anywhere nearby. The closest was General Grievous's fleet on Saleucami Planet, but that fleet could be called the Confederacy of Independent Systems' last lifeline and could not possibly be moved lightly. Therefore, under these circumstances, Sefrans Tann's only possible way out was perhaps to hope that every shot from the Destruction's EMP cannon would inflict massive losses on the Republic fleet.
