Count Dooku had firmly seized the upper hand. Mace Windu had completely lost the ability to fight back.
The ferocious Form VII Juyo could no longer be ferocious. Like a wild beast trapped in a cage, it possessed only savage claws and fangs, with no threat left in them.
Just like the Second Systems Army he commanded, they had become trapped beasts, able only to await their deaths!
"No! No! This is impossible! You should not be my match, Dooku!" Mace Windu roared, bringing his purple Lightsaber down in a strike of tremendous force.
Back when they had both still been in the Jedi Order, they would sometimes spar. For the most part, they had been evenly matched. Both were masters of swordsmanship who had reached the pinnacle of their art, and their matches usually ended with wins and losses on both sides. They had both gained much from those exchanges.
But as time passed, the differences in ideals between Dooku and Windu grew ever greater. Eventually, even within the Jedi Order, they had become little more than strangers to one another, much less friendly sparring partners.
However, after Master Windu created the Vaapad lightsaber form, extensive testing had essentially confirmed that Vaapad held a powerful advantage over the Form II Makashi that Dooku excelled at.
Furthermore, Dooku had later directly fallen to the Dark Side, while Form VII Juyo received considerable advantages in battles against the Dark Side. Because Vaapad used the Force in an entirely different manner, the Dark Side's negative influences instead strengthened its users.
Thus, Master Windu had always been confident that he was definitely stronger than Count Dooku, and their clash on Tull Planet had proven it. As Count Dooku gradually aged, Master Windu, who was in his prime, had gained an increasingly greater advantage.
