This had not been apparent in the early stages of the war, since the entire Galactic Republic had still been one entity at the time, and many of the talents recruited by the Trade Federation had come from the Core Worlds and Inner Rim. But as the war progressed, the Galactic Republic and later the Galactic Empire imposed a complete blockade on the Outer Rim Territories, and the exchange of talent naturally ground to a complete halt.
As a result, the overall quality of the research teams the Trade Federation could field now had naturally declined.
Incidentally, the split within the InterGalactic Banking Clan had also caused considerable negative effects in this matter.
The chairman of the InterGalactic Banking Clan (S), Rush Clovis, had once been a senior official of the InterGalactic Banking Clan and belonged to the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
