1924, Battle of Felucia
September 7, 16 BBY, Eastern Outer Rim, Felucia.
More than a dozen Imperial-class Star Destroyers, accompanied by five Acclamator-class assault ships, appeared around the planet and began deploying large numbers of Imperial Stormtroopers to the surface.
An exceptionally brutal ground invasion was underway!
The Galactic Empire had deployed more than 300,000 troops on this planet! All of them were Imperial Stormtroopers composed of three-year Spaarti clone troopers.
These Stormtroopers wore the latest generation of polymer alloy armor. Compared with the polymer alloy armor used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, it offered far superior protection and provided its wearer with a certain degree of powered assistance. Their fully enclosed helmets included a global communications system, a multi-band detection system, tactical assistance systems, and more.
The advanced armor made up for the gap in combat capability between Spaarti clone troopers and Kaminoan clone troopers, allowing them at last to attack an entire planet with tens of thousands fewer troops, just as the Galactic Republic's Clone Troopers had during the Clone Wars!
But Felucia was different!
Felucia was one of the core planets of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and had once housed the Merchant Guilds' headquarters. It possessed extremely solid defenses and a massive garrison. After the Merchant Guilds were dismantled, Felucia's political status declined somewhat, but it remained one of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' most important planets.
Besides the military forces left behind by the Merchant Guilds, the planet also harbored smugglers and criminal syndicates. The most famous of them was the Neimoidians' spice-smuggling organization. Based on Felucia, the Neimoidians had built a vast spice business and were also one of the secret partners in the Duchy of Dawn's spice-smuggling trade. They had likewise obtained large quantities of weapons and equipment from Dawn
