After two days of reconnaissance, Nova and Super Lotus had basically finished scanning and investigating the situation within Alderaan's royal palace.

Alderaan's royal family was generally quite down-to-earth and did not stand on ceremony. Even some of the outer areas of the palace were open for public viewing.
Of course, all that fairness and justice was built upon immense material abundance. Nova was firmly convinced that Alderaan was an exploiter, so she regarded everything about the planet with indifference.

Under the treaty, the Galactic Republic was obligated to ensure Alderaan's security. Unlike those unloved, neglected planets, worlds that had signed this treaty were guaranteed the immediate arrival of the Republic fleet whenever they needed help.
