Then the clamshell armored hangar doors on both sides opened, and over a hundred Vulture droid fighters flew out, beginning to circle the colony at low altitude.
It was unmistakably a Victory II-class Star Destroyer! And emblazoned beneath the Star Destroyer was a red-and-white umbrella emblem.

The Victory I-class Star Destroyers and Victory II-class Star Destroyers manufactured by Rendili StarDrive had joined the Duchy of Dawn Navy after Rendili threw in its lot with the Duchy of Dawn. However, although the Duchy of Dawn Navy had ordered both types of Star Destroyers, it had far too many warship options available. Naval orders alone could not satisfy Rendili StarDrive's enormous production capacity.
Before Rendili's orbital shipyards began refitting to manufacture other mainstay Duchy of Dawn warships, such as Hell-Angel Class Battlecruisers and Divinity-class battleships, the mature and high-performing Victory-class Star Destroyers had already begun shining brilliantly in another field.
That field was the various Planet Defense Fleets, escort fleets, and patrol fleets.
Previously, the warships of these second-line fleets had mostly been old vessels retired from the navy, such as Revelation-class light cruisers, Hiigaran-class battlecruisers, Dreadnought-class heavy cruisers, and so on. However, those ships had long since ceased production. As the Duchy of Dawn's territory continued expanding, these aging warships had long become insufficient.
