Jedi Knight Demi sat cross-legged on the floor, using a small induction cooker in front of him to heat a can of food. After adding a little water and bringing it to a boil, it became a hearty bowl of meat soup.
He handed the can to the Cerea girl sitting beside him, then took another can for himself and prepared it the same way.
The Cerea girl had already taken off her protective suit. Tests had confirmed that there were no viruses on the surface of her body. There might have been some inside her, but as long as there was no skin-to-skin contact, it would be fine.
She had recovered from the terror-stricken state she had been in a few days ago and was much calmer now. Perhaps she had come to terms with it and accepted her fate. At the very least, she had not died miserably like the companions who had been kidnapped alongside her by the slave traders and infected with the T-Veronica Virus.
