Among the Galactic Empire's current military-industrial system, the three most important components were three industrial giants—Kuat Drive Yards, Sith Fleet Systems, and Corellia Engineering Company.

Of these three industrial titans, Corellia Engineering Company was relatively independent. Since it was primarily responsible for building large numbers of civilian spacecraft, industrial vessels, and commercial ships, although it was enormous in scale, it basically did not undertake research and development tasks for the Imperial military.

Corellia Engineering Company's current main business was contract manufacturing. After obtaining blueprints, it helped the other two industrial giants produce and manufacture their warships.
