2143, Vulpter Invasion Battle
Meanwhile, the Galactic Empire also dispatched a landing force to Vulpter.
Vulpter was located in the Deep Core of the Milky Way Galaxy, the region closest to the galactic center. At the center of the galaxy lay a supermassive black hole and a massive star cluster composed of hundreds of millions of stars. Obviously, no habitable planets could exist in such places—indeed, no planets could exist there at all.
The Deep Core was the outermost layer of the galactic core, effectively the farthest limit at which habitable planets could form. Only a dozen or so known planets inhabited by intelligent life existed within the Deep Core. Beyond a certain distance outward, the number of habitable worlds increased sharply, and that was the boundary between the Deep Core and the Core Worlds.
Vulpter was one of the planets located in the Deep Core. It was also an old-established industrial system within the galaxy, with highly developed industry. However, while its industry was advanced, its technological level was not. In time, it became a contract manufacturing base for organizations that were truly developed and advanced.
Due to excessive industrialization, the planet's environment had been completely devastated. Agricultural production had fallen directly to zero, and it could survive only by importing agricultural products from other planets. Moreover, Vulpter's industrial goods were not particularly advanced and could not generate much profit. The planet quickly went bankrupt and became a dependency of the Mega-corporations in the Core Worlds.
And the one controlling Vulpter now was the Trade Federation.
Vulpter had a population of roughly 420 million, along with over 20 billion robots of all kinds and countless highly automated factories. Due to excessive emissions of waste gas, the entire planet was enveloped in a purple atmosphere. The air was thick with
