Darth Malthael frantically searched through the mountain of manuscripts. Most of these dark and forbidden texts were research notes left behind by Darth Pregas, along with documents Darth Tenebrus had dictated for him while under his control.
The knowledge contained in these research notes and manuscripts was vast. Both Darth Pregas and Darth Tenebrus had been fanatically devoted to studying the essence of the Dark Side Force, completely unlike the several generations of Sith Lords before them, who had simply drifted along.
With such an inheritance at his disposal, Darth Malthael naturally benefited endlessly. Yet this also exposed one of his greatest weaknesses—he had devoted far less energy to studying the Dark Side Force than those Sith Lords had.
He fell short of Darth Pregas, Darth Tenebrus, and even Darth Sidious after he became Emperor of the Empire.
