The Eye Incident
Gideon Tarkin immediately dispatched a large number of ships to scout the hyperspace routes between the Kashyyyk system and Hutt Space, attempting to find the Destruction battleship.
However, he was destined to be disappointed. General Grievous's Destruction battleship seemed to have vanished completely; there was simply no way to tell where it was.
Not only that, The Eye of Palpatine could not be found either. No matter how the research team adjusted the remote-control system settings, even attempting to use the energy of an entire star to boost the controller's output, everything proved futile.
The Eye of Palpatine had likewise vanished without a trace. No response, no trail, nothing.
Gideon Tarkin was so furious that he wanted to drag every member of the research team out and flay them alive. But anger was anger; he knew there was no other solution and could only let them keep at it.
He knew very clearly just how difficult The Eye of Palpatine was to track. Aside from its excellent stealth capabilities, it also possessed another feature—it was equipped with a more advanced warp engine!!
Just as Darth Vader had once used a warp engine to launch a surprise attack on the Rendili system, the Galactic Empire now placed great importance on this faster-than-light means of travel beyond hyperspace and had conducted extensive research into it. As an AI-controlled warship, The Eye of Palpatine naturally had a warp engine installed as well.
What did that mean? It meant that The Eye of Palpatine, with not a single living creature aboard, could use its warp engine to cross the entire Milky Way Galaxy without anyone being able to track it and appear somewhere else!
And there was no way to know what this super AI was thinking, what it wanted, what
