Tang Xiao had made up his mind. He raised his hand again, and another black Kyber Crystal flew out and sank into Jerec's heart.
Soon, Jerec's body twitched. A flash of Force light passed through his empty eye sockets, and then he sat up. His vacant sockets faced Tang Xiao as he used the Mirialan's unique Force Vision to examine his surroundings through the Force.
At last, he dropped to both knees before Tang Xiao and said with utmost reverence, "I await your command, my master."
"I grant you immortality. I grant you power. And you will offer up everything... your loyalty, your soul, all that you are..." Tang Xiao said coldly. "Now tell me, what do you want?"
"To serve my master is all I desire." Jerec prostrated himself on the ground.
"Why did you choose to betray Darth Sidious?" Tang Xiao asked.
Jerec paused. His expression was complicated. He clenched his teeth, fists tightly balled, before finally loosening them helplessly. "I sought knowledge... craved knowledge... The Jedi Order restricted me and refused to let me touch the Dark Side. But they paid for their arrogance. While serving His Majesty the Emperor, I studied the ancient Sith Empire—its culture, its traditions, its knowledge... But His Majesty the Emperor likewise denied me the path to greater knowledge...
