The planet's highest military commander, Lieutenant General Ramon, surrendered—though he had done reasonably well, leading two hundred battered Star Destroyers in resistance until only around forty remained, even if that resistance had not actually lasted very long.
This bloody battle report now lay on the desk of Seben, Governor of the Imperial Twelfth Army.
"Useless! Useless!! They had Imperial-class Star Destroyers and orbital stations, yet they still couldn't beat a mere 120 enemy ships? Useless! Useless! I'll send Ramon before a military court!!" Governor Seben roared.
"Technically speaking, Lieutenant General Ramon is currently in a Kingdom of Dawn POW camp. You have no way of sending him before a military court," Lieutenant General Hekto said coldly.
He had completely lost hope in Governor Seben's conduct.
If the Tarkin family had previously carried out political maneuvering while still ensuring military results, then Seben was now utterly ignoring the situation at the front, caring only about shirking responsibility, whitewashing the situation, and desperately accumulating political capital.
Lieutenant General Hekto had completely despaired of the Twelfth Army's future. He glanced at the incompetently raging Seben, then silently turned and left.
This defeat was a devastating blow to the Twelfth Army. The chain reaction had already begun: Charos IV Planet had fallen, while General Grievous led nine Purifier aircraft carriers in a raid on Balamak Planet. Only then did General Grievous begin gathering his fleet. He started concentrating the Kingdom of Dawn's true main fleet from
