Rear Admiral Kallic immediately sent an urgent request for reinforcements to the rear. However, at that moment, the military commander of the First System Army, Imperial Marshal Oswald Tessik, was attacking Bilbrin.
Worse still, the campaign on Bilbrin Planet was progressing smoothly. Marshal Oswald Tessik believed he could completely capture the fortress planet within a week.
Now that he had received Scipio's distress call, Marshal Oswald Tessik gave it some thought. He believed that although Scipio had insufficient forces—only fifty Star Destroyers and more than six hundred small and medium warships—it had the Guardian, an Executor-class Super Star Destroyer, stationed there. That was enough to deter any conventional fleet. He waved a hand. "Tell Rear Admiral Kallic to hold his position. Once the Battle of Bilbrin is over, I will personally lead the main force back to reinforce him—six days at most!"
Rear Admiral Kallic clenched his fists, his nails digging deep into his palms. He had no confidence at all. The vast swathes of lost-contact signals on the screen all marked just how unusual this Kingdom of Dawn offensive was.
To destroy Interdictors so quickly and over such a wide area could mean only one thing—the Kingdom of Dawn fleet was launching a frenzied assault with an exceptionally brutal and powerful method. They were tearing through the hyperspace barrier and forcing their way through!
Whatever was coming, it was absolutely no trivial matter!
