Decisive Battle on Coruscant (IV)
Coruscant's defensive network had fully deployed. In addition to the tens of thousands of Orbital Defense Cannons buried deep underground, hidden launch ports across the planet's surface opened one after another. Uniquely shaped aircraft soared into the sky like raindrops, climbing straight into the stratosphere.
Immediately afterward, the aircraft unfolded and hovered in the air, forming a vast network.
Then, a brilliant beam shot up from the ground and struck one of the aircraft. Using it as a relay node, the energy was transmitted to four neighboring aircraft. Repeating this process, the energy spread layer by layer like a spiderweb, instantly weaving an energy shield that covered the entire sky.
The Planetary Shield, which had just been bombarded by the Doomsday Weapon and tens of thousands of nuclear missiles, stabilized at once.
The "Sky Dome System"! A temporary dome shield developed to counter the tactic of concentrating fire on a single point of a Planetary Shield and causing a localized collapse.
The launch ports still did not stop. Fighter after fighter rose into the air. These fighters came in all kinds of designs, including Z-95 Headhunter fighters and V-wing Alpha-class Starfighters, old models from the Clone Wars and even the Stark Hyperspace War.
These retired fighters had not been dismantled, but placed in storage.
It was not only stored fighters. Small escort frigates and armed freighters had also been piled up in mountains. Normally, no one even knew where these things were, because Coruscant was simply too vast!
With 5,173 distinct levels, every level was like an independent planet, with cities, industry, agriculture, commerce, housing, military industry—everything imaginable.
In fact, without even needing to specially clear out space across Coruscant's 5,173 levels, it could easily accommodate all nearly twenty thousand Star Destroyers and millions of
