Hunting the Malevolence (II)
After Anakin Skywalker ended the transmission, Padmé Amidala, who had been standing beside him without appearing in the comms, said, "They're right. Your duty now is to protect me."
Anakin's face showed conflict. "This can't go on. If we leave this superweapon alone, it might truly destroy our resistance..."
He suddenly raised his head and said through clenched teeth, "I have to go! It might not take long, and Rock Johnson will protect you too."
Padmé Amidala raised her hoverchair, then wrapped her arms around Anakin's neck and gave him a deep kiss on the lips. "I don't trust anyone but you, Anni."
"I..."
"So I'm going with you! Just like when we went to Tatooine last time! As long as I'm by your side, won't you be able to protect me too?" Padmé Amidala used the same excuse as before, then braced herself with both hands and actually jumped down from her hoverchair!
Anakin was startled and hurriedly caught her. "You... You haven't recovered yet! How can you get down!?"
Padmé Amidala struggled in Anakin's arms, then landed on the floor and moved her limbs. "I recovered long ago. Before, I merely needed rest. But now, compared to resting, I need exercise more to speed up my recovery."
"Are you crazy? You heard it too. This superweapon has already destroyed seven of our battle groups, and not a single person came back alive!" Anakin seized Padmé by the shoulders and said sternly.
"That's precisely why, when facing something this serious, I must confront it as a senator! I can already imagine those people in the Senate turning pale at the mention of this superweapon. This isn't merely a military matter—it's a political one. Besides, with you here, I believe we'll make it back alive." Padmé
