The battle launched by General Grievous was later named the "Festival Offensive" by the Galactic Republic Supreme Strategic Command. This period had originally coincided with an ancient Mon Calamari festival, but General Grievous's frenzied offensive forced the festival to be suspended. Worse still, after this battle, their planet lay deep within Separatist territory and had been cut off from all contact.
During the Festival Offensive, the Galactic Republic's 12th Legion, Cerulean Spear, was utterly crippled, with nearly all its territory occupied. Had General Grievous not been uninterested in its capital, Lantillies, the 12th Legion might have become the next legion to be struck from the rolls.
In addition, the Republic's 4th Army and 16th Legion also suffered devastating losses and were nearly incapable of further combat. Iron Lance, the 13th Army stationed in Hutt Space, had its mobile fleet badly mauled while rushing to reinforce them and could only retreat once more.
The severe blow dealt to the 13th Army also directly left the chaos Darth Malthael had stirred up in Hutt Space at the same time without any force to keep it in check, allowing it to grow ever worse.
Together with Red Tails, the Republic's 14th Legion, whose capital of Rynoth was currently under siege by Watto Tambor, Foreman of the Technological Alliance, nearly half of the Galactic Republic's twenty legions had lost their combat power.
The Galactic Republic Supreme Strategic Command immediately began adjusting its deployments, ordering the 3rd Army, one of the forces guarding the Core Worlds, to fully reinforce Lantillies of the 12th Legion. They would turn the planet into a powerful fortress while also giving Therbon, governor of the 12th Legion, a much-needed boost of confidence.
At the same time, they prepared for the worst and made arrangements for the 14th Legion to withdraw.
