22BBY, October 14, Outer Rim of the galaxy, Terminus Planet, outer space.

Darth Malthael, clad in a black cloak, sat cross-legged in a warship cabin with a transparent skylight, meditating in silence.

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open. A terrifying golden light flashed within them as he raised his head and looked toward a point in the endless universe beyond the window.

"Anger, humiliation, sorrow, despair... I can feel your emotions, Chosen One," Darth Malthael murmured coldly.

"What did you sense?" An aged yet resonant voice came from Kresh's Gauntlet. It belonged to Lucien Draay, the Jedi Soul dwelling within it.

"The Jabiim Campaign appears to be over," Darth Malthael said.

Sure enough, his communicator soon rang. The projection of Ulu Ulix, a Dark Follower, appeared before him. Kneeling on one knee, he said respectfully, "My lord, the Galactic Republic has completely withdrawn from Jabiim planet. Following your instructions, I stayed at Alto Stratus's side throughout the battle and successfully prevented two Jedi Knight assassination attempts against him."

"What is Alto doing now?" Darth Malthael asked blandly.

"He is on his way to the capital. I believe he will soon announce the establishment of a new government on Jabiim planet, most likely an authoritarian one," Ulu Ulix replied.

"Assist Alto in handling certain matters and strengthen our presence on Jabiim planet. The Fourth Group will also help with Jabiim planet's reconstruction afterward," Darth Malthael said.

"My lord, I still have doubts." Ulu Ulix lowered his head and asked respectfully, "Why must we go to such lengths to help poor, backward planets like Jabiim planet and Caladan Planet develop and rebuild? They will be of no help whatsoever to our war."
