"As long as we don't attack them directly, they can't sense us through the Force." Luna Dream spoke calmly. "You've sunk too deeply into the dream, just like Master..."
"Who is your Master?" Quinlan Vos asked.
There was another question he did not voice. Who had taught these two monsters?
"Who taught these two monsters?" Luna Dream glanced at Quinlan Vos and spoke at the same time as his thoughts.
"Who are you calling monsters, huh? You big oaf, do you want to die?" Luna Illusion snapped, shooting him a displeased look.
"You two!!!" Quinlan Vos finally cracked. He leapt backward. "Don't come any closer!!"
Yet the spot where he landed should have been level ground, but he stepped on something soft and lost his balance, tumbling to the floor. In that instant, he realized he had stepped on a soldier's corpse! Then the corpse instantly turned back into empty ground, but the sensation beneath his foot remained.
"You... can read my mind..." Quinlan Vos's voice began to tremble. All he wanted now was to leave this place, as far away as possible!
"You're dreaming, and we're in your dream. Of course we know how you dream. Idiot." Luna Illusion looked at him disdainfully.
But Quinlan Vos could not understand her explanation.
What did that mean? Because they were in a dream, they knew what he was thinking? What connection was there between those things?
"Kill them and end this... I've had enough!" Quinlan Vos's will was incredibly firm. He quickly calmed himself, rose from the ground, and said in a low voice, "You don't know swordsmanship, do you? Let me handle it! I'll take them out!"
"Tch! It took so much effort to get you into a dream. How could we not have some fun? Go stand aside, idiot!"
