Coruscant Prison Break (Part 2)
About thirty minutes before the Energy Center explosion, a silent slaughter was also unfolding at the Coruscant Ministry of Justice Prison.
During the shift change between two groups of guards, sensors installed around the prison perimeter suddenly sounded an alarm. A Speeder came hurtling straight at the prison as if it had gone mad!
The prison guards immediately issued warnings, but the driver of the Speeder ignored them completely!
When the sensor feed was magnified, they saw in horror that blood was flowing from the driver's seven orifices. He looked utterly deranged and had completely lost control!
"...According to Article 4 of the Prison Area Defense Regulations, the Active Defense Protocol authorizes us to destroy this vehicle." Only after the prison Commander read the regulation aloud to the recorder as required did he issue the order to fire.
After all, this was Coruscant, the Galactic Republic Capital. Many things had to be handled strictly by the book. Otherwise, if someone caught hold of a mistake, they might never work among Coruscant's upper ranks again for the rest of their lives. Compared to other planets in the Milky Way Galaxy, even being a prison guard was a genuine opportunity to work in Coruscant's upper circles.
At the Commander's order, a concealed laser turret suddenly rose from the ground outside the prison. After locking on, it fired a scorching crimson laser beam that instantly struck the Speeder.
In less than a second, the Speeder became a fireball, exploding and breaking apart in midair as countless flaming fragments rained down.
Firefighters and investigators immediately rushed toward the scene.
