"Hello," Wesley greeted him. "You are...?"
"I'm your father's guide, a Templar Knight of the Knights Templar Order, Zhou Yi," Zhou Yi said. "Wesley, are you interested in Kindle the Fire?"
"Huh?" Wesley froze.
"We can talk about that later," Carlos said with a dark expression, somewhat displeased by Zhou Yi's impromptu performance that had gone completely off-script. "Let's get out of here first."
My son had only just stepped into this world!
Couldn't he give him a little more time to adjust, then let him make his own decision...
The more Carlos thought about it, the guiltier he felt.
After all, he knew perfectly well that he had only learned the true state of the Assassin Alliance and successfully reunited with Wesley because of Zhou Yi's help.
Besides, given the current circumstances, Wesley joining the Knights Templar Order did seem like the best choice.
But...
Perhaps it was a father's instinct. Though Carlos knew this matter was irreversible and that he had no real grounds to object, he could never remain completely rational. He would always favor his son, Wesley.
"You're right," Zhou Yi nodded. "Let's leave first. Once we reach the safe house, we can discuss this properly."
Thus, Carlos quickly picked up the things he had packed long ago, and the three of them left together. Wesley had no objections whatsoever.
He knew he probably would not be coming back for a long time.
But when he thought carefully, what did he actually need to bring? What was there worth missing?
A bank card with barely any savings?
Some clothes he had worn and washed for years?
A girlfriend who fooled around with his "best friend"?
A job that was pure torment and paid insultingly little?
A fat old supervisor who was always making trouble for him?
