Born in the Extreme North, the Two Emperors Advance

"Xue'er, look! Something's coming this way."

In the core region of the Extreme North, Ice Empress pointed at a blue meteor in the sky, curiosity in her voice.

For any creature living on land, a meteor falling from the sky would inevitably stir some curiosity.

And on the Douluo Continent, a place where supernatural power existed, meteors descending from beyond the heavens were even more alluring.

It might even be some great opportunity!

"A... baby?" Ice Empress's red lips parted slightly as she stared at the infant in the center of the crater, wrapped in a flower, her face filled with astonishment.

She found it hard to believe that such a huge commotion had been caused by a baby.

That meteor from earlier had been the baby before them?

Although Snow Empress showed little on her face, she was equally shocked inside.

Could this child be the legendary Divine Child, sent down from the God Realm to undergo trials?

As one of the rulers of the Extreme North and one of the Douluo Continent's foremost powers, Snow Empress knew at least some of the continent's hidden secrets.

Naturally, that included the existence of gods.

Born in the Extreme North and a snow spirit who believed in the Ice God, Snow Empress did not harbor the same hostility toward the gods of the God Realm and humans as those Soul Beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest.

Of course, since the God Realm had imposed Heavenly Tribulations upon Soul Beasts and hindered their path to godhood, it was difficult for them to feel much goodwill toward the gods of the God Realm.

"More humans and Soul Beasts will probably come here soon. Bing'er, let's leave first." With a wave of her hand, Snow Empress used her Soul Power to draw the baby from the pit into her arms, along with the Green Great Flower that served as its swaddling cloth.

"Alright." Ice Empress glanced once more at the baby in Snow Empress's arms, roughly dealt with the traces around them, and, after confirming there was nothing else nearby, left with Snow Empress.

Sure enough, after Snow Empress and Ice Empress departed, several groups of nearby soul masters and Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts arrived one after another. But after investigating the area, they all left as well.

In the core region of the Extreme North, Snow Empress and Ice Empress stared at the baby before them, deep in thought.

"Xue'er, what are you planning to do? Send him straight to human society, or..." Ice Empress trailed off halfway through her sentence.

Naturally, neither of them intended to kill him outright or consume him as a spiritual herb.

Setting aside everything else, Ice Empress understood Snow Empress. As a Heavenly Snow Woman born of heaven and earth, a darling of nature, Snow Empress was kindhearted by nature. She could be ruthless toward soul masters who coveted Soul Beasts, but she would never be able to harm a baby who knew nothing.

More importantly, the baby's origins were extraordinary. They did not believe he lacked some means of protecting himself.

"How about we raise him ourselves..." Snow Empress suddenly said.

"But we don't have any experience..." Ice Empress hesitated.

"I can go to a human town and learn a little about that. Everything else won't be a problem." A trace of determination appeared on Snow Empress's face.

Of course, she did not intend to raise the baby out of maternal instinct or anything of the sort. There had to be another reason behind it.

She knew very well that her limit was not far away. Although Ice Empress had not said anything, Snow Empress could more or less tell that Ice Empress's limit was approaching as well.

She had originally made a decision: when that time truly came, she would be the first to take human form and grow stronger. Then Ice Empress would take human form as well, and by then, Snow Empress would be strong enough to protect Bing'er.

Lan's gaze seemed to pierce through layer upon layer of obstruction as he looked upon the tiny infant on the Douluo Continent.

Then he nodded, and his figure vanished from where he stood.

After Lan disappeared, several more gazes seemed to cross the barriers of time and space to look this way. Yet they were soon blocked by something, and the agitated imaginary energy around them vanished without a trace once again.

"Phew..."

"What do we do next?"

"What else can we do? We follow that one's wishes."
