| 820,000-year cultivation age | 2 | After she and Ice Empress decide to raise the infant Lang Lei, his green flower divides into two streams of light and enters their bodies. Her cultivation age and talent increase, and an intangible connection forms with him. A purple light erases the gathering Heavenly Tribulation. |
| 830,000-year cultivation age | 5 | Reached during the following six years, possibly through the flower’s lingering effects. Her strengthened connection with Ice Empress enables additional fusion techniques; she judges herself capable of fighting Di Tian to a standstill. |
Background / History
Snow Empress was born in the Extreme North as a Heavenly Snow Woman who believed in the Ice God. Unlike the soul beasts of the Star Dou Great Forest, she did not share their hostility toward humans and the God Realm. Nevertheless, the Heavenly Tribulations imposed on soul beasts—and the resulting barrier to godhood—left her with little goodwill toward the gods 2.
Before meeting Lang Lei, she believed that both her and Ice Empress’s ends were approaching. Her original plan was to transform into a human first, become strong enough to protect Ice Empress, and then help her transform. She recognized that this approach carried considerable risks 2.
When a meteor crashed into the Extreme North, the two discovered an infant wrapped in a green flower. Snow Empress removed him before other humans and soul beasts could arrive. She proposed raising him, reasoning that his extraordinary origins might eventually allow him to lead both women toward a higher existence. Although compassionate toward the helpless child, her initial decision was explicitly not driven by maternal instinct 2.
To give Lang Lei a more normal childhood, she and Ice Empress left the Extreme North’s core and settled in a nearby human town. Over six years, their initially practical arrangement developed into a genuine family bond 3 9 48.
Appearance
Snow Empress has a slender figure, striking beauty, and an otherworldly aura. Her movements remain graceful even during combat 10 21 43.
- Hair: White and blue, described fluttering in the extreme cold wind during her duel with Di Tian 42.
- Blood: Pale blue and ice-crystal-like when she is injured 42.
- Concealment: Wears a veil in Heaven Dou City to reduce unwanted attention, though her figure and presence still attract onlookers 10.
Personality
Snow Empress combines compassion with ruthlessness toward threats. She would not harm an innocent infant, but she has killed countless soul masters over tens of thousands of years. Opponents as powerful as Soul Douluos are beneath her usual notice—unless they threaten Lang Lei 2 21.
She generally prefers avoiding unnecessary trouble. She restrains Ice Empress’s impulsiveness, conceals her presence during hunts, and initially avoids a confrontation with Di Tian while Lang Lei requires protection. This caution does not mean submission: she encourages Lang Lei to stand up to bullies and refuses to let imperial authority intimidate his family 5 7 10 21.
Her affection for Lang Lei includes concern for both his safety and development. His unusually mature behavior disappoints her when she hopes to see ordinary childhood curiosity, yet she allows him independence at the academy rather than constantly following him. During his playful disputes with Ice Empress, she often watches with amusement instead of intervening 11 16 40.
Despite her decisive handling of immediate dangers, she dislikes complicated deliberation. When faced with Na’er’s uncertain origins, she prefers entrusting the decision to Lang Lei rather than pursuing another potentially divine connection herself 48.
Abilities & Skills
Extreme Cold Manipulation
- Freezing and shattering: Freezes two palace Soul Douluos before they can touch Lang Lei, then destroys their frozen bodies with a casual gesture 20 21.
- Defensive constructs: Creates nine layered Ice Crystal Shields against Di Tian’s Dragon Claws 42.
- Projectile control: Forms ice cones, thousands of Ice Arrows, and airborne ice blades. Broken shield fragments become spikes aimed at gaps in Di Tian’s scales 42 49.
- Mist infiltration: Reconstitutes melted arrows into fine Ice Mist, allowing extreme cold to seep through Di Tian’s scales and briefly stiffen his body 42.
- Large-scale attacks: Produces an ice pillar tens of meters thick and an ice crystal sword tens of meters long 42 43.
- Battlefield impact: Her clash with Di Tian freezes the ground into an ice layer tens of meters deep 42.
Coordination and Fusion with Ice Empress
- Already possessed an ability resembling a Martial Soul Fusion Skill before Lang Lei’s arrival 5.
- Gains additional fusion techniques through their strengthened connection after receiving the green flower’s power 5.
- Their cold auras resonate in battle, freezing even airborne sparks while they pressure Di Tian from opposite directions 43.
- Snow Empress suspects that she, Ice Empress, and Lang Lei may eventually develop a Trinity Martial Soul Fusion Skill; it remains an expectation rather than a demonstrated technique 5.
Flight and Aura Concealment
- Flies with Ice Empress and transports Lang Lei between settlements and the Star Dou Great Forest 7 10 36.
- Suppresses her aura during soul-beast hunts so potential targets do not flee before the group approaches 7 36.
- The green divine flower conceals her soul-beast aura, helping her move through human society without openly revealing her identity 16.
Cultivation Knowledge and Guidance
- Identifies soul beasts and advises Lang Lei on suitable spirit rings, absorption risks, and the effects of his new skills 6 7 8.
- Recognizes the value of systematic academy study despite her own extensive knowledge 4.
- Captures the Swift-Treading Spirit Deer whose thirty-thousand-year ring becomes Lang Lei’s third spirit ring 37.
- Warns him to use Life Transfer cautiously after witnessing its life-draining effects 50.
Combat Limits
- Holds her own against Di Tian, but their direct clash leaves her bleeding and throws her back dozens of meters 42.
- Forces Di Tian to retreat after Ice Empress joins the fight; this is a coordinated victory, not a solo defeat 43.
- She and Ice Empress are unable to contend with the God of Destruction 39 40.
- Lang Lei’s Silver Dragon King Martial Soul exerts enough pressure to make both women tremble involuntarily 48.
Equipment / Weapons / Items

- Veil — Worn to conceal her features in Heaven Dou City 10.
- Spirit-bone collection — Collects exceptionally valuable bones left by deceased soul beasts in the Extreme North after Lang Lei’s arrival 4.
- Gold Soul Coins and recovered property — She and Ice Empress possess substantial wealth from deceased soul masters; they also order their subjects to collect such resources for Lang Lei 4.
Relationships
- Lang Lei — Raised him from infancy with Ice Empress. He calls her “Sister Xue,” and she comes to regard him as a younger brother despite their lack of blood relation. She prioritizes his safety while supporting his independence 3 9 16 48.
- Ice Empress — Closest companion, co-guardian, and combat partner. Snow Empress originally planned to secure a safe human transformation for her and frequently moderates her impulsive behavior 2 5 10 43.
- Di Tian — Hostile rival. He regards her protection of the God of Destruction’s successor as betrayal; she counters that targeting Lang Lei makes him an enemy of the Extreme North 42 43.
- Qian Renxue / Xue Qinghe — Offers assistance with Lang Lei’s academy admission and accommodation. Snow Empress avoids introducing herself because her name could expose her identity, and initially insists on finding her own lodging 16.
- Na’er — An unfamiliar, divinely connected child whose fate she leaves to Lang Lei. She helps test Na’er’s Silver Dragon Spear transformation and later notices similarities between the girl’s Dragon Might and Lang Lei’s martial soul aura 48 49 51.
