Background / History

In the era before the Dark Era, Ni Jiu was a Heavenly Golden Suanni who attained the Great Emperor Realm. He spread his bloodline throughout the Northern Region, leaving descendants that eventually formed the Golden Suanni, Golden Lion, and Sun-Devouring Cloud Lion lineages of the Golden Sun Realm. His coercive pursuit of offspring also earned him widespread hostility among the Demon Race. 55 57 100

Ni Jiu encountered the Black Ancient Scripture while propagating his race in a Demon Race Dao Domain. The scripture corrupted the domain's inhabitants into strange creatures and affected Ni Jiu himself. To contain the disaster, he sealed the area with a great divine technique; over time, the sealed world became the Crimson Meteor Burial Ground. 57

Reduced to a remnant soul, Ni Jiu secretly attached himself to Xuan Ning. Su Chenxiao discovered him and threatened to feed him to the Death Soul Beast. Faced with annihilation, Ni Jiu offered his Demon Realm connections and inheritance, then accepted Su Chenxiao's demand to become his mount. 55

After swearing a Heavenly Dao Oath, Ni Jiu was placed under absolute control through the Mother-Child Beast Taming Ring and entered Su Chenxiao's Sea of Consciousness. The Su Clan later reconstructed his divine soul and physical body, restoring him as a Heavenly Golden Suanni. 56 64 65

Ni Jiu initially carries himself with the arrogance of a former Great Emperor, demanding that Su Chenxiao kneel before him despite being only a remnant soul. The Death Soul Beast quickly breaks this confidence; Ni Jiu becomes openly terrified of extinction and pragmatically accepts servitude rather than allow his bloodline to end. 55 56

He remains proud of his divine-beast heritage and expects reverence from his descendants. When Tu Zhen attacks him and disparages his binding ring, Ni Jiu punishes him with a roar and orders all gathered Golden Sun Realm demons to kneel. 107 108
