As Lu Jing joined Spirit Hall, Shrek Academy suffered devastating losses in a war with the Star Dou Great Forest, while Huo Yuhao and Tang San faced separate turns in their paths.

• Lu Jing awakened the World-Annihilating Black Lotus, and villagers and Bei Bei and Tang Ya branded him dangerous and chased him into the Star Dou Great Forest.
• Wang Dong'er joined Bei Bei and Tang Ya in the hunt, but Sky Dream Ice Silkworm chose Lu Jing, giving him a soul ring and new ice abilities.
• Tang Ya died after Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s attack, and Lu Jing, Bei Bei, the man in black, and Wang Dong'er were swept through a spatial rift.
• Qian Daoliu and Qian Renxue encountered the displaced group, learned that Spirit Hall had fallen to Tang San, and accepted Lu Jing and Wang Dong'er into Spirit Hall.

Lu Jing and Wang Dong'er settled into Spirit Hall ten thousand years in the past, where Lu Jing gained allies and drew Bibi Dong’s attention. After six years, he planned to leave on a journey with Wang Dong'er while keeping clear of Spirit Hall’s competing factions and seeking a way home.

• Tang San and the God of Destruction searched the Star Dou Great Forest for Tang Wutong, found no trace of her, and left to search other worlds while Gu Yuena concealed herself.
• Wang Dong'er and Lu Jing arrived at Spirit Hall, agreed to cooperate, and settled into the Worship Hall as Qian Renxue questioned their origins and her own future.
• Lu Jing and Wang Dong'er bought Ten-Thousand-Year Whale Rubber with Qian Renxue’s help, and Lu Jing and Qian Renxue absorbed its purified essence to strengthen their bodies.

Wang Dong'er began the Sea God trials after Poseidon confronted Tang San’s Divine Sense, while Lu Jing left for the Extreme North and she waited for his return.

• Lu Jing and Wang Dong'er found Ah Yin’s hidden cave, took her Blue Silver Emperor body and Soul Bone, then abducted Xiao Wu from Nuoding Academy.
• Tang Hao discovered the theft, destroyed Holy Soul Village in rage, and vowed revenge on Spirit Hall.
• In Heaven Dou City, Lu Jing killed Prince Xue Xing and Xue Beng after they tried to seize Wang Dong'er, then met Qian Renxue and urged her to remove threats to her succession.
• Lu Jing led Qian Renxue, Wang Dong'er, Xiao Wu, and Stingray Douluo to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where the group collected immortal herbs and Stingray Douluo defeated Dugu Bo.

Lu Jing secured the Ice Empress’s and Tian Meng’s sacrifices, then brought Snow Empress and Wang Dong'er across the sea toward Sea God Island. After Snow Empress clashed with the island’s guardians, Wang Dong'er began the Sea God assessment and received the Sea God’s Nine Trials.

• Lu Jing reunited Tian Meng with Ice Empress and Snow Empress, then proved his account of traveling from the future by finding the younger Tian Meng in an underground ice cave.
• Ice Empress and both versions of Tian Meng sacrificed themselves to Lu Jing, giving him a new martial soul and helping him break through his Soul Power bottleneck.
• Lu Jing invited Snow Empress to join him and Wang Dong'er, and the three traveled to Heaven Dou City before departing for Sea God Island.
• On the Vast Sea, the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King attacked Snow Empress, but Wang Dong'er used the Heart of the Sea God to summon its power and end the storm.
• Lu Jing, Wang Dong'er, and Snow Empress flew to Sea God Island, where Snow Empress froze the guardians’ attack and confronted Xiao Bai.
• At the Seahorse Sacred Pillar, Wang Dong'er's assessment light turned gold, and Sea Dragon Douluo identified her trial as the Sea God's Nine Trials.
