Background / History
Nangong Ya is a genius of the Nangong Family, a martial arts aristocratic family whose Mental Visualization Diagram and Mental Power Martial Art originated from the Soul Flame of a Level 99 Alien Race killed by her grandfather. The inherited methods provide unusually rapid and powerful Mental Power growth, but are incomplete and amplify the user’s strongest personality trait. 89
During the Nangong Family’s genius battle, she ranked fifth and challenged Xu Zhiming after being angered by his apparent confidence. Although she possessed more than one hundred points in both Vitality and Mental Power, Xu Zhiming defeated her with the True Meaning of Lightning. His strength prompted her to actively pursue him. 84 86 87
She subsequently supplied Xu Zhiming with the competition’s first-place reward, family cultivation insights, and access to the Nangong Family’s Mental Visualization Diagram. In return, she repeatedly sought his Thunderbolt, which stimulated her body and accelerated her Mental Power cultivation. 91 92
At Divine Martial University, Nangong Ya remained close to Xu Zhiming while developing as a Mentalist in her own right. She joined him on Mirage Realm expeditions, accumulated Monster Beast Souls for cultivation, and defended him in disputes with other students. 146 147
Her comprehension of Soul Clan techniques later made her a target. While returning to the Nangong Family, she recognized surveillance, altered her route, requested help, and entered a Mirage Realm to expose the threat. A Soul Clan infiltrator attempted to assassinate her, but Bai Xuan intervened and Divine Martial University personnel pursued the attacker. 255 256 257

Personality
Nangong Ya is bold, persistent, and direct about both cultivation and her feelings for Xu Zhiming. After witnessing his strength, she commits herself to pursuing him rather than concealing her interest. 87 92
The flaw in her family’s Mental Visualization Diagram appears to have intensified her desire for stimulation. She actively requests Xu Zhiming’s Thunderbolt, treating its sensation and the resulting cultivation gains as something more exciting than ordinary training. 89
Despite her impulsive side, she is observant and resourceful. She detected danger while being watched by a high-level Martial Artist, sent messages for assistance, and recognized that her attacker’s techniques linked him to the Soul Clan. 256 257
