Background / History

Rita serves as an S-rank Valkyrie and the adjutant of Schicksal’s Blade of Immortality. Otto Apocalypse relies on her for intelligence processing, mission coordination, covert work, assassinations, and other tasks unsuitable for more public personnel. Her workload extends beyond combat operations: requests from Schicksal branches and Blade of Immortality assignments pass through her before reaching Otto. 41 94

After Otto redirects his plans surrounding the Third Herrscher, he assigns Rita to investigate Gu Yu and, if possible, bring him to Schicksal Headquarters. Rita introduces herself to Gu Yu’s group with courtesy, asks for Raiden Mei’s identity, and defuses the confrontation by joking that Gu Yu has a harem. Gu Yu immediately recognizes her as Schicksal’s “shadow,” an agent trusted with Otto’s secrets and dirty work. 41

Rita initially follows Otto’s instructions by probing, monitoring, and attempting to manipulate Gu Yu. She attacks him with her scythe during their first encounter, later plants a locator and listening device on him in ROS, and adopts flirtatious behavior to unsettle him and his companions. 42 94 117

Her confidence in Otto gradually deteriorates. Rita concludes that, despite her rank and usefulness, she is ultimately an expendable pawn; she cites Otto’s treatment of Cecilia Schariac as evidence that even highly valued Valkyries can be sacrificed for his plans. Gu Yu forces Rita into a duel on her birthday, compelling her to reveal Azure Knight: Moon of the Soul. Otto’s Betrayal and Survival

Otto’s implanted bomb activates within Rita, creating a Honkai Energy Suppression Field that seals Gu Yu’s abilities and critically injures her. Rita reveals Otto’s plan and urges Gu Yu to escape, leading Schicksal to believe she has died. 719 720 731

Rita survives the incident. She later contacts the Blade of Immortality, startling Durandal and the other Valkyries, and eventually resumes missions alongside Durandal. 734 760
