"Lord Speaker, how did things go on the other side of the rift?" someone present asked.
"Uh... we didn't catch up to Lain. He got away," Lemo answered truthfully.
After passing through the Space Rift, Speaker Lemo discovered that Lain had made quite a few preparations on the other side.
He, Legion Commander Darando, Director Andrew, and the others who followed close behind were trapped in layer after layer of illusions.
By the time they broke through the illusions and returned to the real world, Lain had already vanished without a trace.
However, they were not discouraged. They split up and continued searching in every direction for traces of Lain, hoping to find some clue.
"We didn't catch him? What a pity!" someone nearby sighed.
"Yes, what a pity. Lain's Wings have already been torn away. It would have been wonderful if we could eliminate him completely!"
"The rebel organization is truly brazen! I think Lain must have had something to rely on for this trip."
Someone else called out to Lemo from afar, "Lord Speaker, are the other Star-level beings still pursuing Lain?"
Lemo replied, "Yes. On the other side of the Space Rift is the Tenth Star Sector. Aside from the sub-hub, it contains over a thousand Native Civilizations.
Everyone has split up to investigate those civilizations one by one, to see whether they can find any clues.
I did not go investigate and instead returned early to hold the fort, in case hostile forces tried to take advantage of the opening."
The "sub-hubs" Speaker Lemo mentioned were the transit planets of the various subordinate star sectors.
Feige Hub had thirty-six subordinate star sectors. Their names were also simple and crude, running from the First Star Sector to the Thirty-Sixth Star Sector. Their rankings were determined jointly by
