"No necessary connection? How exactly is there no connection?" Marnina stared directly at the Red Dragon Queen, wanting to hear how these dragons would argue their way out of it.
"Of course there is no necessary connection." The Red Dragon Queen answered solemnly, "Among us dragons, if the descendants of dragons living overseas wish to return to Dragon Island, they often give gifts to the direct descendants of the Dragon Emperor and Dragon Kings.
"Perhaps this Blue Star Human knew of this custom, so when he impersonated a dragon descendant, he also wanted to give a gift. He merely happened to choose Princess Keke."
As soon as the Red Dragon Queen finished speaking, the Black Dragon King flapped his enormous wings and chimed in, "I think Gry—the Red Dragon Queen—is right. If that Blue Star Human had chosen my son when giving his gift, would that mean I was colluding with the Blue Star Humans too, by your logic?"
The Red Dragon Queen and the Black Dragon King looked at Marnina with overwhelming pressure, waiting to hear his answer.
Marnina showed no reaction whatsoever to the pressure exerted by the two Dragon Kings.
After all, he was the emperor of the Solar Empire. How could two insignificant little dragons possibly suppress him?
He smiled at the two Dragon Kings. "You two do have a point. But now there is a problem—if even I did not know about this custom of yours, how did the Blue Star Humans know?"
"This..." Faced with this question, the two Dragon Kings froze.
The matter of "giving gifts upon a descendant's return" was never openly discussed. It was all done in secret, and even many dragons on Dragon Island did not know about it. How could the Blue Star Humans have known?
"Could it be..."
