Early the next morning, before dawn had broken, Uchiha Aozora got out of bed.
After washing up, he stored some food and training aids in a Sealing Scroll, then headed for the summit of a small mountain beside the Clan Compound.
Sitting cross-legged atop the mountain, Uchiha Aozora meditated and regulated his breathing, continuously circulating Chakra to familiarize himself with its control.
When he sensed that dawn was near, Uchiha Aozora guided a thin, threadlike stream of Chakra into his eyeballs.
Unlike activating the Sharingan, when this wisp of Chakra entered his eyes, Uchiha Aozora felt a faint coolness.
As the amount of Chakra gradually increased, Uchiha Aozora felt a slight swelling in his eyes. At the same time, the world before him became clearer and brighter.
Even though the sun had yet to rise, he could clearly see the scattered pebbles on the ground and the wild grass growing along the roadside in the dim world around him.
When his eyes began to sting slightly, Uchiha Aozora hurriedly stopped channeling Chakra.
After getting used to his sharper vision, Aozora stared toward the horizon and waited for the rising sun.
When a sliver of pale white light appeared in the east, Uchiha Aozora suddenly widened his eyes, striving to observe every shade of color and every glimmer of light in the clouds at the horizon.
As the rising sun climbed into the sky, the clouds gradually became dyed a single color by its light, and Uchiha Aozora withdrew his gaze.
Slowly exhaling a breath of stale air, Uchiha Aozora ended this session of Yang Eye training.
"Where's this purple qi of the rising sun? I thought I could cultivate the Purple Extreme Demonic Eye."
Aozora shook his head, somewhat disappointed.
Before long, however, he put that small regret behind him.
The leave Aburame Shibi had given him was only two days. He had originally planned to devote himself to training the Body Flicker Technique, but the Clan Meeting had disrupted his plans and wasted quite a bit of his time.
Now that only one day remained, Uchiha Aozora decided to train the Body Flicker Technique for the entire day.
Taking out a rice ball from the Sealing Scroll, Uchiha Aozora chewed as he walked into the dense forest at the foot of the mountain.
The forest was filled with towering trees. Every trunk was thick and hard enough that an ordinary person could only leave a shallow mark on one even with a blade.
Moreover, these trees grew densely together in defiance of nature, with another massive tree appearing every three to five meters.
Without question, this was the perfect place to practice the Body Flicker Technique.
Uchiha Aozora did not begin training immediately. Though his skin was tough and his flesh thick, it was not as if he could not feel pain. If his body slammed into a tree, it would still hurt.
Aozora took out set after set of quilts and pillows from the Sealing Scroll. He wrapped the quilts around several trees ahead of him and tied the pillows to the sides facing him.
After making thorough safety preparations, Uchiha Aozora began training the Body Flicker Technique.
This time, Uchiha Aozora did not activate his Sharingan.
On one hand, the Sharingan consumed too much Chakra. If he activated it, he would not have much Chakra left to practice the Body Flicker Technique.
On the other hand, while the Sharingan was useful, Uchiha Aozora also wanted to strengthen the training of his other five senses.
He did not reject using the Sharingan in battle, but in ordinary times, he hoped to strengthen his other five senses and make up for his shortcomings.
Chakra gathered beneath his feet, and Uchiha Aozora shot forward at high speed.
Through yesterday's training, he had initially grasped the proper control for the Body Flicker Technique. He knew how many meters he would move with a given burst of Chakra, so he successfully weaved around three trees in succession without injury.
However, as he passed the third tree, the distance was too short. His Chakra ran out the instant he burst forward, causing him to crash into another tree beside him as he turned.
Because the tree was wrapped in quilts, Aozora was not seriously hurt. He only scraped a little skin when he fell and rolled across the ground.
Uchiha Aozora had expected this.
With a kip-up, Uchiha Aozora sprang to his feet. "Again!"
The Body Flicker Technique was not a ninjutsu like the Great Fireball Technique. Learning it was only the beginning; only mastery could make it truly useful.
Otherwise, using an immature Body Flicker Technique in battle would be nothing more than throwing himself away.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
He crashed into trees again and again, falling to the ground time after time.
Uchiha Aozora did not stop. He simply rolled over and continued training.
After exhausting his Chakra, Uchiha Aozora did not go home. Instead, he ate a little food, refined more Chakra, and resumed his training.
One minute onstage took ten years of work offstage.
If he wanted to bleed less in battle, he had to shed more tears in training.
He understood all these principles. In the peaceful and comfortable environment of his previous life, he had room to be lazy. But in the Shinobi World, Aozora knew that the consequence of slacking off was insufficient strength, death, and the destruction of his clan.
The Third Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen's intentions were still unknown, but Shimura Danzō, who had proposed the Relocation Plan, definitely harbored killing intent toward the Uchiha.
Since crossing into the Shinobi World, aside from yesterday, he had not made any move that affected the plot. But who could say that a butterfly flapping its wings across the Pacific Ocean would not cause a massive storm?
Once the Uchiha Relocation Plan was carried out, the Uchiha would face the danger of clan extermination at any moment.
Yet his current strength was too weak, and his prestige far too low.
Therefore, no matter how eloquently he spoke, it would ultimately be dismissed as "nothing but nonsense."
When Uchiha Fugaku had suppressed him so easily, Uchiha Aozora had realized that strength was the true rule of the Shinobi World.
If he possessed Jonin-level strength, Uchiha Fugaku would have had no choice but to listen to his entire speech.
If he possessed Kage-level strength, the village would have to think again and again before making any decision concerning the Uchiha.
If he possessed Super Kage strength, why would the Uchiha need to suffer under Konoha? He could take the Uchiha and go anywhere under the heavens.
If he possessed Six Paths strength, he could even create a moon for the Uchiha to use as their base.
Having recognized the importance of strength, Uchiha Aozora no longer had the slightest thought of slacking off. He kept falling and getting back up. Gradually, while using the Body Flicker Technique, he circled three trees, then four trees, ... and eventually even passed beyond the area he had wrapped with quilts and pillows.
When he crashed into trees again, they were no longer soft and cushioned. Instead, his face slammed straight into dry, rough bark.
Furthermore, the forest trees had countless branches. Moving at high speed, Uchiha Aozora inevitably had his clothes torn and his body left with wounds of varying depths.
As his injuries accumulated, Uchiha Aozora discovered that people were simply perverse by nature.
In the area protected by bedding, he still made mistakes after training many times. Yet once he entered the completely unprotected area, he rarely made the same mistake again.
Realizing this, Uchiha Aozora decisively put away the bedding that afternoon and let his body learn the feel of the Body Flicker Technique through injury.
Sure enough, without the protection of the bedding, Uchiha Aozora found that his progress in training the Body Flicker Technique suddenly accelerated. Naturally, the injuries on his body increased just as quickly.
By the time the sun set, not a single patch of flesh on Uchiha Aozora's body remained uninjured.
