The mountain was an ordinary mountain, the trees were ordinary trees, yet they now welcomed a group of extraordinary people.
On this Desolate and Uninhabited hill, five Jonin and four Genin from Cloud and Konoha had gathered, including a Jinchūriki. Battle was about to erupt.
Halfway up the mountain, clouds and mist swirled, and the mountain stronghold flickered in and out of view.
Hyūga Yō immediately reported Cloud's movements. "Sensei, that monster and one Cloud Shinobi have left!"
Aizawa Konan's eyes lit up at once. "Really?"
With his Byakugan active, Hyūga Yō confirmed it again. "Yes. That monster has gone down the mountain. Now, only one sword-wielding Cloud Shinobi remains guarding the path down."
Hearing this, Aizawa Konan stretched her body and made her decision. "Get ready. It's time to launch a counterattack."
Kurama Saki hesitated. "Sensei, that Cloud Shinobi outside is powerful, and you're injured right now—and the reinforcements can't defeat that mon—"
Before he could finish, Aizawa Konan silenced him with an icy look.
"Shut up!" Aizawa Konan said. "As ninja, we cannot place all our hopes on others.
"Yugito Nii is powerful. The ninja who came to reinforce us are already in great danger. Even if we can't defeat the Jonin before us, we must at least hold him back and draw more attention. Otherwise, the reinforcements will be in even greater danger."
After reprimanding Kurama Saki, Aizawa Konan said, "This is our best chance to escape. Our opponent may be a Cloud Jonin, but he is alone. Our team is intact. As long as we cooperate properly, killing him is not impossible."
After quickly assigning everyone their tasks, she leaped onto a building at the front of the stronghold and rapidly formed Hand Seals.
"Water Release—Water Colliding Wave!"
The mist in the air rapidly thinned. At the same time, swirling currents appeared around her.
The current grew larger and larger, eventually transforming into waves that surged toward the sword-wielding Cloud Shinobi outside the stronghold.
Kaminari, the Cloud Shinobi, sneered. "You've finally come out of your turtle shell!"
"Cloud Style! Cloud Cutter!"
With a swing of his sharp sword, three keen arcs of blade light split the waves apart, revealing Team 1 behind them.
At the foot of the mountain, the long-haired female ninja faced off against a male ninja in a high-collared leather outfit.
Yugito crouched in a tree and smiled. "I hooked a big fish! I never thought the Clan Head of the Aburame Clan would be nearby!"
Facing the Jinchūriki known as a weapon of war, Aburame Shibi showed no fear. He merely said coldly, "Yugito of Cloud, I didn't expect you to be so bold as to venture deep in alone. Aren't you afraid that once you come, you won't be able to leave?"
"Losing a Jinchūriki would be enough to severely weaken Even for an Cloud."
Yugito smiled. "You alone? The all-powerful Aburame Shibi!"
"It should be known that—"
As she spoke, sharp Chakra claws extended from her hands and feet, and azure flames rose from them.
"For a ninja—"
As nimble as a cat, she silently darted through the trees around Aburame Shibi.
"Being all-powerful means—"
Yugito's voice still came from all around him, but her figure had completely vanished from Aburame Shibi's sight.
"Being capable of nothing!"
Before her words had faded, Yugito appeared behind Aburame Shibi. Her solid Chakra claws slashed down from above.
The attack came from Aburame Shibi's blind spot without making the slightest sound, yet he saw through it clearly. He turned and raised his arm, precisely blocking the lethal strike.
"Screech—"
The Chakra claws scraped across Aburame Shibi's arm with the piercing sound of metal scratching glass.
Yugito retreated after one strike, attacking like a phantom from every direction. Yet no matter how she concealed herself or attacked, Aburame Shibi always blocked and countered with precision.
After another exchange, Yugito used the recoil to leap onto the crown of a tree. She asked in confusion, "Why can you evade my attacks? Every attack I make comes from your visual blind spot. Even if your reactions are quick, you shouldn't be able to block every single one."
Aburame Shibi put his hands in his pockets. "In the eyes of insects, none of your actions can escape notice."
"No wonder." Yugito nodded in understanding. "Then what are you using to block my Chakra claws? You should know my claws can split metal and shatter stone."
"Iron Beetles," Aburame Shibi said. "Their shells are as hard as metal and stone."
Yugito smiled. "Such tiny insects can serve so many purposes. As expected of the insect-controlling Aburame. Thank you for clearing up my doubts, but that doesn't mean I'll let you go."
Aburame Shibi shook his head. "Tiny insects? Even tiny insects possess great souls. How can they be disregarded!"
"Secret Technique! Insect Dragon Tornado!"
While answering Yugito's questions, he had already controlled his insects to secretly surround her.
The Kikaichū spun along a special trajectory, creating a whirlwind out of thin air that encircled Yugito.
At the center of the whirlwind, Yugito felt her Chakra continuously draining away. Yet she showed no concern and merely laughed. "Foolish. You actually want to devour a Jinchūriki's Chakra."
"Matatabi, lend me some power."
Aburame Shibi instantly sensed a powerful, evil Chakra erupting from the female ninja before him. Behind her appeared a tail formed from Azure Cat Demon Pattern Chakra Pillar.
Yet even after receiving the tailed beast's Chakra, Yugito did not break free from her restraints. The insect cloud in the sky surged toward her like waves, gnawing away at her released Chakra as though it were metal and stone.
Aburame Shibi said, "A Jinchūriki is nothing more than an artificial weapon. What is there to fear?"
"Soul Devouring Insects feed on Chakra. They may not be able to drain all your Chakra, but suppressing you for the moment is more than enough."
As he spoke, tangible Chakra appeared in his hands. He prepared to seal the Two-Tails' Chakra and capture this Jinchūriki completely.
The Aburame Clan had a long history, and Aburame Shibi himself was highly experienced. He was no stranger to Jinchūriki.
Tailed beasts possessed the power to destroy heaven and earth, but Jinchūriki, as the vessels of tailed beasts, found it difficult to wield their full strength.
Ordinary Jinchūriki could usually only borrow a portion of a tailed beast's Chakra. They were not necessarily stronger than elite Jōnin with extensive combat experience.
In battles between ninja, Chakra was not the only factor. Kekkei Genkai, Secret Techniques, ninjutsu, experience, and other factors could all play vital roles.
Watching Aburame Shibi draw closer, Yugito did not panic. Instead, she said, "You think you've truly won? How naive!"
As she spoke, an Azure Cat Demon Pattern Chakra Pillar shot up from her body with such force that even her tied-up hair was blown upward.
The azure Chakra around her condensed into clusters of flames, incinerating every Soul Devouring Insect on her body to ash.
Her pupils turned a cold white. With her hands and feet planted on the ground, she resembled a cat demon from the netherworld.
"Perfect Jinchūriki!"
For the first time, Aburame Shibi's perpetually cold expression showed a trace of emotion.
A Perfect Jinchūriki was utterly different from an ordinary Jinchūriki!
Although ordinary Jinchūriki possessed immense Chakra, the tailed beasts' lack of cooperation made it difficult for them to display great strength.
A Perfect Jinchūriki not only possessed inexhaustible Chakra, but also gained powerful regenerative abilities with the tailed beast's help. Most importantly, the Jinchūriki would gain the tailed beast's unique abilities.
For example, the Two-Tails wielded Netherworld Flame.
Such a Jinchūriki had already surpassed Jonin and firmly entered the realm of Kage-level strength.
Aburame Shibi knew that the battle ahead had become dangerous.
