Leman Russ's figure moved like a beast through the forest, swiftly weaving through the jungle of forged steel.
Dragonwood Star's shell was Caliban itself. The dense forests had merely become steel jungles, the mountains factories of flesh, the streams energy conduits, but the terrain itself had not changed at all.
On Dragonwood Star, Leman was like a fish returned to the cold stream that had birthed him. Every rise, every rock, every pebble in the stream was etched into his memory.
He was practically toying with Perturabo in battle. Perturabo now dared not use the Great Mask's ranged firepower to blanket the area, lest he harm the unfinished female robot on Leman's shield. He could only drag his massive body along in pursuit of Leman.
Yet his body was enormous, and he was not a primarch known for speed or reflexes. He simply could not catch Leman, much less keep up with his reactions. Even when he occasionally found an opening to attack, Leman could raise his shield before Perturabo touched him, placing that unfinished female robot in front of himself.
After being drawn back and forth like this time and again, Perturabo grew increasingly irritated.
That was precisely the effect Leman sought.
The First Primarch moved, taking a single step into the gloomy woods and vanishing into the steel jungle.
Then, in the blink of an eye, he appeared at Perturabo's side, swinging his shield and charging straight at Perturabo's body.
Perturabo cursed under his breath at the sight.
His body was far too hard and sturdy. If "Sister's" unfinished mechanical body struck it, she would likely shatter into pieces in an instant.
Perturabo did not hesitate. He swiftly linked his will to Dragonwood Star, attempting to use its ability to tear through time and space for a transfer.
