Caslon swiftly opened the side door and rear ramp of the transport, preparing to abandon the vehicle and continue on foot.

Then, to his horror, he saw one of his teammates stick his head out of the hatch and quickly shoot it down with the transport's mounted machine gun.

As one of the Sons of the Emperor, his marksmanship naturally spoke for itself.

With several gunshots, the automated flying mech that had been brazenly flying straight through the sky was instantly reduced to a heap of scrap beneath the muzzle flashes.

Trailing a charred plume, it crashed down behind the transport and vanished into the weeds.

"Captain Caslon, it's all right now. We succeeded—"

The man had just been about to help Captain Caslon relax when he was immediately chewed out.
